Conference held by Prof. Vasile Mihoc Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Nice

On December 6, 2009 we had in our midst as a guest style=”text-decoration: Fr Prof. Vasile Mihoc from the Faculty of Theology in Sibiu . It was present in the midst of our parish both evening Vespers and Divine Liturgy the next day. St. Nicholas has brought us the best gift this year: Professor Basil Mihoc Fr. He is a man who speaks like this and live as God’s word.

He is a professor at the Faculty of Theology of Sibiu, supervisor for many young and less young people who attend this university and the leader of those who are already enrolled in doctoral programs. At the same time is the father of a family and not any family, but a Christian, God blessed with 13 children.

It was a blessing to have him in our midst the parent teacher who was the teacher of many priests and bishops, but which is acealaşi time and a true leader of the salvation of many souls around the world.

After Vespers of St. Nicholas, parent teacher gave us a sermon around Chapter 5 of that we put out to the readers:

“With each verse of the Bible should be considered and its interpretation. Interpretation is as old as the Bible itself. God is revealed and the extent of their people to receive this revelation and the extent of their abilities to enter into relationship with God. Often the brevity of the Old Testament text is not impossible to reveal God, but man is unable to grasp. In this way should be interpreted and violence described in the Old Testament. It is God who supports violence, but it was the people’s perception of those times.

Old Testament is actually a whole divine pedagogy. Violence was characteristic of men. From the outset Cain kills Abel and violence went into an exacerbation. People came up to cannibalism. The man is a cannibal, is a man who is able to fulfill the commandment “love thy neighbor as thyself.” To get here God works slowly, do not force him. We, through diligence and through the Holy Spirit can we understand more deeply the word of Holy Scripture in divine revelation. But God is revealed not only through Scripture (this is a restriction which seriously compromise the ability to understand divine revelation). For us it is Christ himself as the supreme revelation of the divine-human person. The Bible must come to know and to communion with Christ to know God.

We are called to look into that communion with God, but perfection is a gift of life beyond.
